Cold Weather Enclosures
Maintaining an optimal working temperature is crucial to the function of condensers. Southern and Midwest regions must deal with wide temperature ranges and variable weather, while the Northern regions have to protect against freezing. Spiral X offers designs to overcome the challenges of both regions.
Sheet Metal Enclosures
Spiral X offers insulated sheet metal enclosures on all BTEX units to protect against colder temperatures and other environmental elements; debris, hail, etc. The panels are made of 18 gauge coated carbon steel and are removable for inspection and maintenance. Examples of these enclosures can be seen to the right and in the louver section of this page.
Louvers
Adjustable louvers are suggested for regions where there are wide temperature swings. Closing them captures the heat from the condensers to keep the system warm in the cold months; opening the louvers forces maximum air across the tube bundles for cooler operation in the heat of summer. Adjustable louvers are designed and manufactured in-house by Spiral X with 3/16″ aluminum. The air blades are created from our own extrusion mold that creates an efficient air flow for controlling the air volume. These blades are set with bronze bushings for increased wear resistance, unlike standard plastic bushings. The adjusting handle can be loosened for customized positioning.
Hinged Doors
SpiralX offers hinged doors on all BTEX unit enclosures for easier access to components when maintenance is required or when pressure readings on the regulator dials need to be checked.
It is easier, faster, and safer than having to remove panel hardware.
